Abu Sadat Islam – LL.B (Hons)
Abu is a solicitor at Fountain Solicitors. Abu achieved a first class LLB degree as a part-time student. He was called to Bar of England and Wales in July 2011. He was awarded a major BVC scholarship (Harmsworth Scholar) in 2010 by the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple. Since 2008 Abu spent significant time work shadowing and mentoring some of the leading practitioners at the Bar, including marshalling at Croydon Crown Court and judicial shadowing at Birmingham.
Abu advises and advocates for his clients, dedicating himself to being a mouthpiece for people who have difficulties speaking for themselves and, in particular, to helping those who would otherwise not receive the correct and affordable legal advice and representation. He is committed to help the disadvantaged communities and social groups.
Prior to commencing his legal career, Abu worked for the Ministry of Justice, Immigration and Asylum Tribunal, Birmingham City Council and Citizens Advice Bureau. Following his call to the Bar, Abu developed his career as an in-house practitioner and was admitted as a solicitor of England and Wales in February 2014. He has been involved with immigration work involving entry clearance of children and families, EU free movement rights, disability and care-related immigration, nationality and right of abode, long residence and Article 8 cases, judicial review and deportation matters. He also has considerable experience in the areas of commercial property and business-related matters.
Abu is fluent in English and Bengali.
