Aisha Abdul-Latif qualified as a solicitor in February 2003 at Tyndallwoods Solicitors. She has over 20 years’ legal experience in immigration law, including family immigration, students, asylum, human rights, nationality, and European. She has extensive experience representing clients in appeals before the Immigration Tribunal and lodging applications before the Administrative court, Court of Appeal and Supreme Court.

Aisha has built a strong reputation for successfully defending women who have been victims of domestic violence (in-country and abroad), sexual violence/torture, female genital mutilation (FGM), trafficking and slavery from Asia, the Middle East, Africa and the Balkans since 1999.

Aisha appeared as a guest speaker at the Houses of Parliament on forced marriages and violence against women in June 2012, and at the European Human Rights Court in Rome for a conference organized by the Universal Peace Federation (UPF) in November 2012.

Aisha has an MA in International human rights law from Birmingham City University. She was previously a trainer with the Immigration Lawyers Practitioners’ Association and Gloucester Law Centre, and is a regular consultant for the Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner (OISC). Aisha has also worked with the Children’s Society in Oxford to deliver training courses for unaccompanied children from Afghanistan and Iraq.

Aisha was a visiting lecturer with the University of Law in Birmingham, teaching Civil Litigation and Immigration Law on the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) between 2011-2014. She has also taught on the BA Law ,CILEX and Legal Practice Course at Coventry University and Birmingham City University from 2015-2016.
